My dear friends, since a few months now we hear about the coronavirus. At first it was for all of us a faraway thing in China that wasn’t supposed to mess up with our safe and confortable lives. But now it’s everywhere and for the first time in our lives we are confronted with something our modern and easy lives of travel and socializing hasn’t prepared us for.
Maybe some of us don’t want to believe it yet. We’re not afraid. Our world is too modern for something like a pandemic to happen. We are sure we can control everything and continue to party in face of a danger we cannot see or touch (at least those in the countries not hardly struck yet).
While people young and old struggle for breath in hospitals, while families have to say goodbye to loved ones, while doctors, nurses and so many heroes give their lives to those in need of their help, it’s time to realize we can also be responsible persons and this perfect world we live in can fail to give everything we want sometimes.
Adversity and individual responsibility. Renonciation to futile pleasures. Do we know the meaning of these words? Our great-grand-parents did. Our grand-parents also do or did. Now it’s our turn to show we care. And it’s so very easy for us ! Just stay home and enjoy small pleasures…
I also want to add that it’s the opportunity of a lifetime to get to know oneself. If it seems terrible for you to be stuck without being able to socialize, it’s time you reconsider your life. Maybe you’ve been running away from who you are for a long time now. You cannot do it anymore. And believe me, this is a very good thing!
Who are you? Not your social self, YOU ! Who are you? What do you love to do ? Grab a pen and maybe write down all that’s been stuck inside yourself for long. Read books. Think and dream and treat those closest to you. Or if you like to draw and paint like me, take out you color box out of the shelf 🙂
And of course, don’t forget to bake a cake now and then 🙂 It’s the best remedy against anxiety and keeps you hand and mind busy in the most perfect manner.
Don’t forget about the ones having a hard time but as for yourself grab this opportunity to grow and rediscover the true meaning of things and that life is most enjoyed through the humblest pleasures…
